For the sixth year in a row, Bushland's volleyball team is heading back to the UIL State Championship match.
The Lady Falcons punched their ticket to state with a five-set victory against Ponder on Saturday, Nov. 15, in Wichita Falls.
Now, Jason Culpepper's team will meet Goliad in the Class 3A Division I title match, marking another rematch for Bushland in its quest for a third consecutive state championship. In 2024, the Lady Falcons defeated Ponder in the state semifinals before knocking off Goliad in four sets in the championship match.
Bushland graduated multiple key pieces from that squad, including 2024 Globe-News Player of the Year Mackenzie Sims, but the team still hasn't skipped a beat in 2025.
Culpepper and company have won four of the last five UIL titles, and have a chance
