PHILADELPHIA — The 6-3 Detroit Lions were on the road against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles, who were 7-2 on Sunday Night Football.
Detroit would be taken down 16-9, and failed to score a single touchdown in a game for the first time since October of 2022.
The Lions forced a punt to open the game; however, on their first possession, a tipped pass led to Cooper DeJean being in the right place at the right time and recording an interception.
Detroit’s defense would do well with the sudden change and force a field goal, Eagles led 3-0. The Lions’ next four possessions resulted in two punts and two turnovers on downs, one of those resulting in another Eagles field goal to give them a 6-0 lead.
