The closure will require pedestrians and cyclists to be re-routed to Atwater Street until mid-December.
After that, pedestrians and cyclists will be directed to Franklin Street.
A part of the Riverwalk is set to close Thursday, between Beaubien and Rivard streets, to accommodate utility improvements for Interstate 375, the state’s Transportation Department said.
The construction is expected to last through spring.
The plan is to extend the installation of a new storm sewer along Schweizer Place down to the riverfront starting Nov. 20, and it will require pedestrians and cyclists to be rerouted to Atwater Street until mid-December.
After that, pedestrians and cyclists will be directed to Franklin Street.
Schweizer Place will remain closed between Woodbridge and Atwater streets.
