Michigan skyrocketed in the latest AP Top 25 women’s basketball poll and earned its highest ranking in four seasons.
The Wolverines jumped eight spots, the biggest risers this week, to No. 6 in Monday’s poll. Their 93-54 win over then-No. 18 Notre Dame was certainly a major factor. Michigan is 3-0 and faces No. 1 Connecticut later this week.
The poll’s top five remained unchanged from last week: UConn is followed by South Carolina, UCLA, Texas and LSU.
The Wolverines were last ranked this high in the Feb. 21, 2022 poll, when they were also 6. They reached the Elite Eight that season.
