BENGALURU: Namma Metro has some good news for Tumakuru citizens. For the first time, an inter‑district metro service is set to begin from Bengaluru to Tumakuru. This is very a significant step taken by the authority.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has invited bids to prepare a DPR (detailed project report) for extending the Bengaluru Metro up to Tumakuru, a stretch of a 59.6 km, as part of green‑line extension.

Earlier, the government had directed a feasibility study for the DPR of the Madavara‑Tumakuru corridor. Based on that, BMRCL has invited bids to prepare the DPR. A plan to develop it under the PPP model.
