Nationwide reform may be coming to how Supplemental Nutrition Assistance is handled and the Trump administration pointed to fraud and streamlining government budgets as the cause.
Last week, U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins outlined the federal government’s upcoming plans to SNAP reform based on an analysis of state data provided by 29 “mostly red states.”
She said the next step in that process will include an analysis of SNAP data provided by missing states and a reapplication process for SNAP recipients.
While headlines are swarming with statements claiming SNAP recipients will soon have to reapply to ensure they are truly eligible, much of those claims are based on one short interview .
