Three firefighters were struck by the driver of a vehicle while responding to a separate crash in Uxbridge on Sunday night.
Police and fire responded to a collision in the area of Wagg Road and Highway 47 , around 7:40 p.m. Durham police said .
The first crash involved a transport truck and pickup truck towing a trailer, and investigators believe it was caused by dangerous road conditions due to snow and ice, they said in a news release Monday morning.
While emergency crews were attending to the crash, an approaching driver lost control of their SUV, hitting three firefighters and the driver of the transport truck before crashing through a fence and into a tree.
