Saugerties two-way lineman Myles Coons studies football patterns on film but is also interested in weather patterns.

Coons wants to become a meteorologist and will only play at a college that offers the major. For now, the forecast for Saugerties opponents is to expect a storm front when the 6-foot-5, 265 pounds Coons is making blocks on the offensive line or rushing the quarterback on defense.

His hard-nosed, relentless play in the trenches helped Saugerties upset Port Jervis 22-21 in the Section 9 Class B championship game on Saturday.
