FAIRFAX, Va. — Police are investigating after a group of people was able to get away with hundreds of thousands of dollars after getting into an ATM last month.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, Apple Federal Credit Union reported that $175,000 was stolen from one of its Fairfax branch ATMs in October.
Investigators say a person went to a drive-up ATM in the 4200 block of Members Way near Fair Oaks shortly after 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 3. The suspect reportedly used a key to open the machine, though it is unclear what they did after getting inside the ATM.
