Coweta County has a number of ordinances that would apply to the protection of the proposed Project Sail site.
Article 18 spells out permitted uses for light industrial districts. Permitted uses include the following:
“Any commercial or industrial use which involves manufacturing, processing … but not including uses which may cause injurious or obnoxious noise, vibrations, smoke, gas, fumes, odor, dust, fire hazard or other objectionable conditions to nearby areas.”
Project Sail does not belong in a light industrial zone.
Article 21 lists protections for stream and river corridors, water supply watersheds, groundwater recharge districts and wetlands.
