STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- The reddest borough just got even redder.

Staten Island, which has earned the reputation as New York City’s most conservative borough based on decades of voting patterns, now has more registered Republicans than ever before.

The latest voter enrollment data from the New York State Board of Elections shows that there were 102,840 active registered Republicans on Staten Island as of Nov. 1, 2025, the highest recorded total in the history of the borough.

The borough’s Republican Party Chairman, Assemblymember Michael Tannousis, attributed the record-high Republican registration to ideological concerns over the direction of New York City.
