Jammu, Nov 17: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Social Security Officer in the office of Regional Director, Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Jammu, while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 from the complainant.

A CBI spokesperson said that the Bureau registered the case on Monday, November 17, 2025 based on a complaint that the wife of the complainant was running a private firm which became defunct.

“The firm has not done any business since its inception. However, ESIC, Regional Office, Jammu has been harassing by issuing Notices under Section 45 for non-deposit of contribution to ESIC.
