CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Gas prices in South Carolina rose this past week, but national analysts are still hopeful for a drop in prices ahead of the holiday season.
In the Palmetto State, gas prices rose by 3.1 cents per gallon for an average of $2.71 Monday morning.
That average is 4.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 0.6 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
Across the state, the cheapest gallon of gas was $2.39 while the most expensive was $3.19.
The lowest gas prices in the Lowcountry were $2.49 per gallon, available at the 3525 Park Avenue Costco and the 1130 Holiday Farms Boulevard Spinx, both in Mount Pleasant.
