RALSTON, Neb. (WOWT) - We’re getting into the holiday season and for many, that includes going ice skating. On Sunday, members of the Omaha Lancers hockey team did that with a fun group of skaters.
They joined visually impaired and blind people, and their families, from Outlook Nebraska at Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Ralston.
Elijah Massey found immediate challenges says, “At first it was hard to balance and it was like hard to move.” Of course, those are the kinds of challenges we all face when we hit the ice. “I was used to walking and I wasn’t use to the motion of skating,” Eljiah said.
The challenges he faces with his vision are completely different. He was born without eyes and his eyes are prosthetics.
