ATLANTA — A bicyclist was killed in Atlanta on Monday after being hit by a car while riding through an intersection, according to police.
Atlanta Police said officers were dispatched to 2611 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW, which is right near a Shell and Chevron gas station, in response to a person hit by a vehicle.
Police said that a 60-year-old man riding a bicycle was passing through Westland Boulevard and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW going southbound when police said he passed through the intersection while the light was red and was hit by a 24-year-old man driving a Honda Civic.
The driver of the Civic stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
