INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- After spending half a year perfecting their competitive shows, seven Michigan high school marching bands performed at the Bands of America Grand Nationals competition at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis over the weekend.

Two of Michigan’s bands advanced to the semi-finals round of competition, with one band making history in its respective class size.

During the preliminary round of competition, over 100 bands from across America performed for a panel of judges which scored the marching bands on their music quality, their marching and visual effects and “general effect,” which is the ensemble’s ability to tell the story of their performance theme.
