PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A man found guilty of murder in the death of Justin Sapeda in Pueblo on Christmas Day 2024 was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Monday.

According to the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, Joseph Rodriguez was found guilty on Friday of killing Sapeda after hitting him multiple times with his truck on Christmas morning in the 2600 block of Himes Avenue, near Lake Minnequa.

The DA’s office said Rodriguez was found guilty on all counts after a two-week trial and four hours of jury deliberation. In addition to life without the possibility of parole, Rodriguez was also sentenced to 18 months for tampering with evidence, which will be served consecutively.
