Nashville-based Bass, Berry & Sims was part of a legal team that resulted in a judge recently awarding client Lexon Insurance Company $30 million in damages.
According to a release, Bass, Berry & Sims partnered with Houston-based Vinson & Elkins LLP to secure the verdict in the case involving U.S. Sen. "Jim" James C. Justice II (R-West Virginia).
Previously having served as governor of West Virginia, Justice was elected in November 2024 to replace then-retiring U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin.
The release notes the case concerned more than $20 million in what Lexon alleged in court were unpaid premiums and collateral owed on surety bonds. Lexon, which is headquartered in Mt.
