DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Granvell K. Ramey, 54, of Davenport was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday, according to court documents.

Ramey pleaded guilty in August to serious injury by vehicle and knowingly leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious injury, court documents showed.

On March 13, 2024 officers learned a woman was hit while crossing Rockingham Road in the crosswalk. Police said she had the right of way.

She suffered serious injuries from the crash, including right femur, pelvic and rib fractures, according to police.

Officers said video footage showed Ramey using and texting on his phone while driving the tow truck just before the crash. The footage also showed Ramey leaving the scene after hitting the woman.
