Worker struck by dump truck

A crossing guard working for the City of Hamilton was killed after being struck by a dump truck while on duty.

The incident happened on Thursday at Mohawk Road and Upper Wentworth Street on the mountain, according to a report from CHCH-TV.

The 52-year-old Keith Brewster, who had worked as a crossing guard for three years, was described as someone who “loved his job and the connection he made with all the students and their families,” according to a GoFundMe post.

Brewster was also an active member of Kingsview Community Church and was described as being deeply involved in his family’s life and the local community.
