PULLMAN, Wash. — The UW student who shot a WSU football player in the hours following the Apple Cup was sentenced to three months in jail.
Jakori Buchanan, 20, pleaded guilty to third-degree assault on Friday, according to his attorney Ronnie Rae. He charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and possession of a pistol by a person from 18 to 21 years of age.
He earned credit for time served, so he'll be released on Saturday, November 22nd. Rae says that 30 days were taken off the sentence for good behavior in jail. Court documents show that 90 days was the maximum Buchanan could be sentenced to in this case.
