On Oct. 7, Lori’s Natural Food Center workers publicly expressed their interest in unionizing by sending a letter to owner Lori Sozio and center managers and taking to social media . The employees would unionize with Workers United, a labor union associated with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

In response, the company said it will not voluntarily recognize a union and instead supports a worker vote on unionization via secret ballot.
