NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Leanne Morgan ’s thick accent and comedy about motherhood, marriage and menopause have sent the Tennessee native on a meteoric rise to fame.
With her hit Netflix sitcom ‘Leanne,’ which was recently renewed for a second season, Morgan is taking Nashville musician Lauren Lucas along for the ride.
“We did the pilot last October in 2024, then we started the full season after Christmas,” said Lucas.
The longtime singer, songwriter and South Carolina native helped write the show’s theme song with her partner and mentor, legendary blues musician Keb’ Mo’ .
“I’d been a huge Keb’ Mo’ fan in college,” Lucas added. “I kept asking him to coffee. About a year and a half later, finally, he asked me to write with him, which is like a dream come true.”
