Award show nominations will always cause a stir as personal favorites are excluded from the top honors, but The Game Awards has egregiously snubbed Blue Prince in the coveted Game of the Year category. I don't necessarily disagree with TGA's 2025 nominees ; the six selected titles are, by all accounts, exceptional, but I feel that Blue Prince 's cultural moment deserves official recognition, and being snubbed for a GOTY nomination shows that the game's true genius is being overlooked.

The Game Awards' six nominees for Game of the Year 2025 are Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 , Death Stranding 2: On the Beach , Donkey Kong Bananza , Hades 2 , Hollow Knight: Silksong , and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 . I won't go so far as to say any of these don't deserve their nomina
