There have been more than 350 mass shootings across the U.S. so far this year.

Those shootings — where four or more people were injured or killed, excluding the shooter — have resulted in 315 deaths and more than 1,600 injuries as of Nov. 1.

Still, there have been fewer mass shootings in 2025 so far compared to the past five years.

The number of mass shootings spiked sharply in 2020 and had remained relatively high until last year.

By the start of November in 2023 — the deadliest year for mass shootings — nearly 630 people had lost their lives in mass shootings. This year, that toll has been halved.

Despite mass shooting numbers trending downward this year, there are still more mass shootings today than there were a decade ago.
