For the past two weeks, Alabama football coaches have made it clear that Qua Russaw is nearing return from a foot injury. However, the edge rusher did not play in Saturday’s loss to Oklahoma , nor the prior week’s win over LSU.

On Monday, defensive coordinator Kane Wommack said Russaw was extremely close to playing against the Sooners.

“It was really a game time decision,” Wommack said. “I know sometimes you use that word, but it was something we’re trying to decide in pregame. I think that we’re in position for him to play very soon. Obviously he needs to have a good week of preparation and feel good. He pushed last week, we pushed last week. So we’ll see how he has handled that. I haven’t seen him from an on the field perspective because we didn’t run full speed or anything on Sund
