MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. — The Muskegon Heights Police Department is investigating a woman's death Monday.

Police said they were called to the 2300 block of Hoyt Street after a woman called 911. The woman told dispatch her relative was bleeding.

When officers arrived, they found the woman was severely injured, according to police. They pronounced her dead at the scene. Police did not share what the extent of her injuries was or what may have caused them.

Detectives with the police department are investigating, along with Michigan State Police MMCI Task Force and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.

The police department said they are working the scene and speaking with family members and witnesses.
