NEW RICHMOND, Ohio —

The New Richmond Exempted Village School District is investigating an alleged “hit list” at New Richmond Middle School.

In a post to Facebook on Monday, the district said school officials were made aware of a student’s comment regarding a possible “hit list.” Advertisement

After investigating the remarks, the district said there is no threat to students or staff and that the comment was made “in jest.”

“The district takes these threats extremely seriously. After a thorough investigation by the district’s school resource officer, we have determined the remarks were made in jest and no threat exists to students or staff,” a statement from the district said.
