CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The murder trial for two men charged with killing Scott Brooks , the beloved co-owner of Brooks' Sandwich House in NoDa, entered its third week on Monday as prosecutors continued calling expert witnesses in an effort to connect physical evidence to the suspects.

Terry Connor and Steven Staples are charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy in connection with Brooks’ death. Brooks was shot and killed outside the family-owned restaurant in December 2019 as he prepared for the morning’s business.
