JAMMU, Nov 17: Naib Subedar Ravinder Singh, a 29-year-old ace marksman from the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), Mhow, was given a grand welcome in his native Bishnah town of Jammu division after winning the gold medal in the Men’s 50m Free Pistol event at the ISSF World Championships held at the Egypt International Olympic City Range.
Hailing from Bishnah, Ravinder faced a field of 47 elite shooters and delivered a stellar performance. After a modest start of 93 in his opening series, he staged a remarkable comeback with scores of 98, 94, 95, 93, and an outstanding 96, finishing with a total of 569 points.
