KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - It was no easy task for Park Elementary. Multiple essay questions had to be answered on a lengthy application, but the work was worth it as the school was named a 2025 Blue Ribbon School.

“The Blue Ribbon School of Excellence program has been around for many, many years,” said Dr. Jason Mundorf, Kearney Public Schools superintendent. “It’s been a national program that, of course, with the federal shutdown and some of the things happening at the Department of Education, that program was also disbanded. But, the state of Nebraska wanted to recognize the seven different schools in the state, including Park Elementary, who would be a qualifier and a recipient.”
