A woman has been arrested after a body was found in a Kitchener residence.

Waterloo Regional Police said on Monday, at approximately 12:50 p.m., police responded to a residence in the area of Highland Road West and Patricia Avenue after a report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found a person deceased and investigators determined the two individuals involved were known to each other.

There will be an increased police presence in the area as officers conduct a canvass for witnesses and gather additional information, police said.
