WBKOBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Several road projects are taking place in Kentucky. In Bowling Green, a road-widening project is underway on Louisville Road near Transpark, and is drawing mixed reactions.
In October , residents in the area expressed their frustrations. They know growth is inevitable, but the emotional toll is still heavy. A former area homeowner has had a memorial site right where the construction is scheduled.
Dec. 10 , 1996, was a day the Stidham family will remember forever. It was the first time 9-year-old Matthew went to the mailbox because it’s across the street from the family’s home.
“So I said, ‘No, Matt, don’t go, you’re too slow,” said Teresa Stidham, mother of Matthew. “And he actually got out and said, ‘It’s okay, Mommy, I’ll be okay.”
