NEW YORK — Tony and Grammy Award-winning actress Cynthia Erivo will serve as the opening act for the 99th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 27, adding another high-profile name to an already star-studded lineup for the iconic holiday spectacle.
Organizers described the opening number as "show-stopping" but didn't share exactly what she'll perform to kick off the parade.
The announcement comes days before the official premiere of "Wicked: For Good." Erivo is currently starring as Elphaba in the film adaptations of the Broadway musical. The nationwide release of "Wicked: For Good" is set for Friday, Nov. 21.
She joins previously announced performers including Ciara, Gavin DeGraw, Mickey Guyton, Foreigner, Kool & the Gang and more. The parade will also feature the Radio City
