I am a combat veteran of the Vietnam conflict. On two occasions in my adult life I was approached by men who promised to show me how to get money from the VA for a “disability.” One of these men asked me for money and the other would advise me as a favor. I had no problem rejecting their offers.
Recently, I read how an industry of “influencers” and veterans organizations are competing to get healthy veterans the ultimate 100% disability. With the 100% status, which used to only go to those who had lost limbs or other major disabilities, a recipient would get $50,000 a year for life and free health care.
