OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - In the last few days, two people have died on Omaha city streets, both the victims of hit-and-run drivers.
Omaha police are still looking for suspects, but even if they are arrested, there’s a possibility they won’t face serious jail time.
Sunday morning crash kills pedestrian
Early Sunday morning , around 1 a.m., first responders answered a call near 26th Avenue and Douglas streets.
Witnesses tell police a 29-year-old man was walking in the middle of the street. Two cars avoided hitting the man, but someone driving a truck did not. The driver of the truck hit the man and did not stop. The pedestrian died at the hospital. Police found the truck later, but they didn’t find the driver.
