BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With the cold season drifting in, some local organizations are now opening up their doors to provide a shelter, a warm meal and a place to sleep for those who may have nowhere to go.
The Salvation Army is one of those places, and they have now recognized a need for donations, as they have seen an increase in a need for food. And while the Salvation Army will not turn anybody away, they do need help from the community to help sustain this busy time of year.
“We have already had increased in requests for food boxes and, those coming to our soup kitchen. So the increase of need is greater. And also, our supplies are low right now, so we’re just asking for donations so that we can help the families that are coming to us in need,” said Capt. Monica Horton.
