Police have been unable to locate a kite surfer who was reportedly in distress off the Mandurah coast on Monday, with investigators believing the person made it back to shore safely.
A large scale search was conducted off the coast of Wannanup, Falcon and Halls Head after police were advised of concerns for a kite surfer about 6.35pm.
A police spokeswoman said if there was a kite surfer in distress, it is believed they managed to make it back to shore.
“No person in distress, or a kiteboard or kite was located,” she said.
“A search of the local beaches resulted in no clothing, personal belongings, or a vehicle being located.”
“There has been no missing person reported.”
