An Aussie airline has shocked passengers after it revealed it would abandon premium entry during the busiest time of the year.
Virgin Australia will require all passengers to join the main departure hall queues at Sydney and Brisbane airports over the busy summer period.
The new rule is part of a security screening overhaul that will take effect this week.
Premium entry has long been a favourite for gold and platinum Velocity members and business-class travellers as it lets them bypass the main queues and access a dedicated fast-track lane to the lounge.
Sydney Airport is preparing for the permanent closure of premium entry while prioritising screening in the main departure zone.
Screening in Sydney will operate from 5am to 10am and 2pm to 7pm from Monday to Friday.
