ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Division of Forestry is tracking multiple wildfires across East Tennessee as dry weather and fall debris continue to elevate fire danger in the region.

A map from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on Monday showed active fires reported in Claiborne, Anderson and Cocke counties.

The National Weather Service issued a notice about an elevated fire risk. A fire burning along I-75 drew a large response from several volunteer fire departments, Rural Metro and the Tennessee Division of Forestry.

It’s another reminder that the region is in the middle of fire season — and officials said people need to stay fire-wise.
