CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - West Virginia State Treasurer Larry Pack laid out his priorities for the upcoming legislative session, with lawmakers set to return to work at the state Capitol in a couple of months.
Pack said he will defend the Hope Scholarship program and encouraged lawmakers to not make changes to the state program as it gets ready to open to all K-12 students in West Virginia next year.
The Hope Scholarship program is an education savings account program that allows parents to spend state funding on educational expenses like private school tuition and homeschooling.
The program also allows families to use money for extracurriculars and tutoring.
