OREGON CITY Ore. (KPTV) - A 78-year-old Sandy man with a decades-long record of violent crimes pleaded guilty Friday in Clackamas County Circuit Court to sexually abusing a homeless woman he lured to his home last summer.

Dennis Dean Kersting admitted to charges of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual penetration on Nov. 14. Several other charges were dismissed under a plea agreement. Kersting is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 10, 2026. As part of the agreement, Kersting will serve 116 months in prison with no possibility of early release, prosecutors with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office said.

According to court documents, Kersting encountered the then 41-year-old woman in July on Southeast 82 nd Avenue in Portland. He offered her pizza and access to a shower,
