GREENVILLE — The weekslong contract dispute between insurance provider Humana and Upstate hospital system Bon Secours has ended with the two sides reaching an agreement on coverage for thousands of patients, the health provider announced Nov. 17.
The agreement takes effect Jan. 1 and ensures 16,245 patients in Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid health plans are covered for services under the umbrella of Bon Secours, one of the Upstate’s largest health providers.
If unresolved, the dispute would have classified a host of services as out of network, which can dramatically increase cost.
