PHOENIX (AZFamily) — No family? No problem!

Synopsis

Phillip Vandarploueg ( Brendan Fraser ) is a lonely American actor living in Japan, where he makes ends meet working in commercials. As opportunities for stable work dry up, Phillip begins working for a Rental Family agency, a service where people can hire actors as fake family members to bring to weddings, graduations, and other important events.

One of Phillip’s clients is Hitomi ( Shino Shinozaki ), a single mother to Mia ( Shannon Mahina Gorman ), whose father walked out on them years prior. Hitomi wants Phillip to pretend to be Mia’s estranged father to attend a meeting so she can get into a prestigious school.
