Colman Domingo is making his first appearance alongside his Wicked castmates!

The Oscar-nominated actor channeled his character, the Cowardly Lion, while walking the red carpet at the Wicked: For Good premiere on Monday night (November 17) at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Even though the movie was filmed years ago, Colman ‘s involvement as the voice of the Cowardly Lion wasn’t announced until one month ago .

Director Jon M. Chu told Deadline he DM’d the actor on Instagram to cast him. He shared, “I was like, ‘It’s not a ton of lines, but maybe you have a little time. I know you’re busy. I’ll come to you.’ He was like, ‘Why the f-k not, let’s go!’ And then we went ahead and recorded the lines.”

FYI: Colman is wearing Dolce & Gabbana .
