PHILADELPHIA — The Los Angeles Clippers got news Monday that forward Derrick Jones Jr. will miss at least six weeks with an MCL sprain in his right knee.
Jones left Sunday’s game in Boston needing help to get to the locker room. He had started all 13 games for the Clippers this season, averaging a career-best 10.5 points per game, plus 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
The Archbishop Carroll All-Delco played a career-high 77 games with 55 starts last year for the Clippers, his sixth team in 10 seasons in the NBA. His defensive ability has made him an ideal fit in the Clippers’ lineup, around the backcourt scoring of James Harden and the low-post presence of Ivica Zubac.
