The BC Emergency Alert system will be tested later this week.
The alarm will sound at 1:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
The test alert will be sent to all compatible cellphones and will interrupt radio and television broadcasts.
The alert is part of a national test and would only be used in the case of an imminent emergency like a tsunami or wildfire, or when someone’s life may be in danger.
