BESSEMER, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Bessemer city leaders will decide Tuesday, Nov. 18, whether to approve zoning changes to allow for a massive data center project to move forward that could generate nearly $4 billion in net benefits statewide over 30 years, according to an economic analysis.
The Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) released an impact report based on the limited public information the city of Bessemer has shared about Project Marvel.
The city says the hyper-scale data center could generate 330 jobs with an average salary of $112,500, and a capital investment of nearly $14.5 billion.
