A 62-year-old woman from Peepeekisis Cree Nation is dead after a two-vehicle crash on Sunday.

Saskatchewan RCMP said in a Nov. 17 news release that officers from the Fort Qu’Appelle detachment were investigating the crash, which happened on Highway 10 near the File Hills First Nation junction, approximately 13 kilometres east of Balcarres around 6 p.m. on Nov. 16.

Police said a semi and SUV collided and the woman, who was the driver and sole occupant of the SUV, was taken to hospital where she was declared dead. Her family had been notified, police added.

RCMP said that the driver of the semi was not injured and Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP will continue to look into the crash with the help of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
