A federal judge on Monday ordered Marion County to share information about men on parole for local convictions with federal immigration authorities in a high-profile case over the application of Oregon’s sanctuary law.

U.S. District Judge Michael McShane ruled following a hearing in Portland U.S. District Court, court records show.

The judge has yet to issue a written order, which would outline how the court interpreted federal and state law in settling the case. That order could guide how Oregon law enforcement agencies handle future requests for information from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
